The City of Dowagiac will receive bids for creating four new apartments and common areas at 201 South Front Street, Dowagiac, MI 49047 until 1:30 pm (EST) on March 24, 2023 at Dowagiac City Hall Council Chambers, 241 South Front Street, Dowagiac, MI 49047, and at 2:00 pm (EST) on the same day and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

This city-owned property is located in Dowagiac's beautiful, classic downtown in the flexible housing overlay/Office Service district. The overlay will allow the developer a lowered density with many flexible aspects to development.

Closed - Former Lincoln Elementary School Redevelopment
The city has taken ownership of this beautiful school building with so much potential on 1.346 acres. The school building is located on a major corridor, amongst a residential neighborhood, and within a very short walking distance of all of the amenities downtown. We are seeking a partner to develop a residential or mixed-use concept. A Brownfield Plan is currently active and the city has identified approximately $300,00 in Brownfield eligible activities on the site, along with eligibility for major grant opportunities through MEDC.
