City
Clerk
The primary function of the clerk's office
is keeper of the records. The
clerk's position is an elected post and functions as official record
keeper for the Planning Commission, council and other boards and commissions
of local government.
Equally important is the voter
registration of elections within the city. The City of
Dowagiac has three wards which represents both election and state
representative districts within the city.
Finally, the Clerk's Office serves as an ombudsman
and a conduit between the community at large and the
city administration.
